TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
Polish culture is rich in traditions that have been an inherent part of everyday life of Polish people for centuries. Some holidays, customs, superstitions, rituals, and celebrations are popular among young people even today. Some are firmly rooted in the national religion, Catholicism, others stem from pagan rites of seasons.
Poland is a country of unique traditions and customs, especially when it comes to holidays. Easter is one of the most important holidays, along with Christmas, All Saints Day (1st November), and the Independence Day (11th November). There are a lot of things you will be surprised at when you have a chance to celebrate one of these holidays. In Poland, most traditions are both symbolic and fun. Traditionally, people spend a long time preparing to celebrations. Seasonal markets and holiday fairs dedicated to different holidays and celebrations along with souvenir shops full of folk crafts and handmade art reflect Polish culture and hospitality to travellers and guests of the city.
One of the best time in Rzeszow is spring time, at least for one reason, Juwenalia – Students Festival, which takes place in May or early June. These are the days when students literally get the “Key” to the city and celebrate the time taking part in colourful parades, concerts, contests, games, and parties. Juwenalia is an annually anticipated event which has its roots in medieval times. During the festival, the city is overrun by students celebrating before the summer exam session. Thanks to the large number of students, the time is especially lively.
